We have now added a much requested section to TravelManager - The Welcome Section. You can find this on the menu bar in the far left. We have added over 30 tutorials under the “How To Guides” section and will continually add new tutorials each week until we have the entire application covered.

We are busy working on a “Getting Started” section for TravelManager which will include a number of “How To’s” and tutorials on getting the best out of TravelManager.
We received feedback from a number of you which didnt know that certain pieces of functionality were now available - so we thought it time to add to the team and focus on training and tutorials.
So with that we would like to welcome Megan to the team. She is our newest recruit and will be focusing on the tutorials and training guides for the next couple of months.
If there are specific “How To” guides that you would like to see then please dont hesitate to contact us.

The Vehicle and Driver Assignment functionality has now been released to the live service. You can find the functionality under Employee -> Vehicle / Driver Assignment.
This functionality can save you significant time and energy when allocating drivers and vehicles to service contracts and private hire work so do take the time to have a play with it when you are next logged in.

We believe that your data is your data. Some companies in our industry (and many other industries) like you to keep your data locked up inside their software so you continue to use their products even if their products aren’t particularly good anymore.
We are focusing on ensuring that our software complies with open standards and data portability in particular. Not sure what I mean.
Here is a good video introduction to Data Portability.
So if you put data into TravelManager you can get it out in any format you want and put it into any other application you want. Now if only all software was built like that - it would make life so much simpler for small business owners to start to run their business

We have now rolled out the Bulk Edit functionality for Private Hires and Services BUT only for new private hires and services added from today. We will be testing the functionality in this manner for the rest of the week and will look at migrating all current services / private hire work over sometime next week if we receive positive feedback on the functionality.

Further to my post yesterday. The bulk edit facility will also alert you as to which jobs do not have drivers or vehicles assigned (See the screenshot below)
You can also filter in ascending / descending order on any of the columns and you can move the columns around to fit in with how you want the information to be presented. So for example if you want the information shown with the drivers name first and you want to group all of the drivers work together you can do just that with 2 mouse clicks. (See screenshot below)
Likewise if you want to order by Job (so you group all services together and private hires together) you can (see screenshot below)

We have started the development of the bulk edit functionality for the daily roster / schedule.
As you can see from the screenshot you are able to see all work within the same screen and you can edit each cell by clicking on the cell and the relevant information will be available in a drop down.
So if you want to change the vehicle on a particular job you click on the relevant vehicle and a drop down will be displayed with all of your other vehicles to choose from.
You then choose the new vehicle and thats its. You can change as many drivers / vehicles as you wish and they are all saved in real time and update your roster accordingly.
We anticipate this eagerly awaited functionality will be live within the next 2-3 weeks.

A number of improvements have rolled out this morning based on feedback from a number of customers. They include:-
Next week we are focusing on a number of usability improvements across the application as well as starting the “Bulk Edit” functionality (we should be in a position to show screenshots within the next week)
Also, the User Manual is nearly completed and will be published within the next couple of days.
Reminder:
We believe that if we deliver a good quality product with good quality service we will be rewarded with good quality customers. We also believe in keeping our costs down, so we wont spend lots of money on expensive advertising or marketing. We much prefer to work through word of mouth referrals.

This morning we rolled out a number of new pieces of functionality which ca be seen from within the Account Information section of MyAccount.
In the screenshot above (click on it to see a larger image) you can choose your “Out of Hours” / “SMS Alert” mobile number (See icon No. 1). This is the number that all SMS alerts get sent to .
You can then choose the times of the day where it is acceptable for you to receive an SMS alert (See icon No. 3). In this example we have chosen the times to be between 9am and 5pm.
Any quote which comes from your website using the online quoting widget will then alert you if it comes in between these times. If the quote comes in outside of these times then it is stored up and an SMS is sent the following day at the time set in the “Alert Time Period (Start)” field.
You continue to receive email alerts at the exact time that the quote is sent.
You can also now set your default VAT / Sales Tax rate (See icon 2) - which will be used on all Private Hire / Chauffeur quotes given. You can change these tax rates on each quote from hereon in - so work for charities or private hire work can be given a zero tax rate and chauffeur services can use the standard 17.5% VAT rate in the UK.
We have also made some cosmetic improvements to the quoting tool (on the “Create Quick Job” for now) which auto updates the quote price as the form is being filled in (See icon 1 in the screenshot below). We have also changed the layout of the journey times to accommodate the three main journey types (Single Trip, Return Trip where the vehicles comes back for the return pickup and Return Trip where the vehicle stays for the duration of the trip) - See icon 2 in the following screenshot.
Depending on which journey type you choose the time / date fields are accessible or not (See icon 3 in following screenshot)
